I've been freelancing as a graphic designer for years, and while the freedom is real, so are the downsides: isolation, pressure to constantly upskill, and the feeling that you should do it all – for less. I kept asking: does it have to be this way? This project began with a survey where I asked creative freelancers about the biggest challenges they face today, insights that went on to shape the final design solution. The findings from the survey were clear – we don’t need more hustle culture, we need each other. The solution became FUBBICK FrilansForum, an online community built by and for freelancers to connect and share opportunities, while growing together. Through the forum, members can ask for advice, share experiences, and find support in the day-to-day challenges of freelance life. The name ‘Fubbick’, a cheeky southern Swedish term, is a nod to where I’m from, and also a reminder that we’re not fools for not knowing everything, we’re fools for pretending we should.
