GRIT is a magazine that challenges gender norms by applying a traditionally masculine design language to women in training contexts. The project questions how gender-coded design in media subtly reinforces stereotypes by often presenting women as passive or appearance-focused, and men as strong and capable.
GRIT portrays women as powerful, driven and confident, shifting focus from looks to performance. As a designer and feminist, I aim to highlight our responsibility in shaping societal narratives through visual communication. This project is a critique and a prototype, demonstrating how design can resist norms rather than reinforce them. GRIT is a tribute to the women who inspire change and a call to others to claim space on their terms.
